Instructions
- Melt butter in large pot
- Add enough grated carrot to cover the bottom of the pan. Cook until carrots are soft but not brown (~6 min)
- Add tomato paste and garlic and cook until fragrent (~30 sec)
- Add ground chuck, salt and pepper; breaking up into tiny pieces
- Add milk and bring to vigorous simmer. Cook until only clear milk fat remains (~10 - 15 min)
- Add the wine, pureed tomatos, tomato sauce, fresh thyme and bring to boil
- Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker / crock pot
- Cover and allow to come back up to boil
- Remove lid and cook until desired thickness (~6 - 7 hours)
